Wedding Blog
We first got married at Beverly Hills City Hall. I wore a dress by Bevza and our dog Pluto was there. We have three polaroids from the civil ceremony which will remain private and encase in a manila envelope with our marriage certificate.
Afterwards, Pascal and I went to Beverly Hills hotel for breakfast. (You see, we were booked an afternoon appointment at city hall months later but received a call just the day before notifying us of an 8AM cancellation.)
After breakfast, we went to Malibu beach. To be fair, it was September in LA.

Our real wedding was in Tel Aviv at The Jaffa hotel, a historical French hospital reborn as a glamorous hotel.
I wore this fabulous headband from Happy Isles. My cornucopic wreath of pearls. I love it and treasure it in a little silk pouch in my closet.
My dress was made by Bailey at Tigra Tigra. A halter dress of mashroo silk with raw hems, drop waist and embroidered kota overlay.
I had my dress altered more than once, as I was pregnant and growing, by a man named Joseph The Tailor (according to iPhone contacts). He also made me a veil, with butterflies.

Pascal (my husband) was very sick at the wedding. Like high-fever-drained-three-bags-of-IV sick. Like sweating and retching sick. Like we-had-to-give-him-steroids-to-show-up sick. Everyone said it was “just nerves.” It was not. The day before we went clementine picking in the south and our driver was a really cool guy. He was also a very sick guy. We shared clementines all day.
In a Jewish wedding , there is a ketubah signing before the ceremony. The family and close friends of the bride and groom huddle in one room with the Rabbi(s). There are blessings and a witness signs the marriage contract (ketubah). It’s usually very emotional as it’s a pretty solemn affair and the words and affirmations spoken are binding and strict. For life, to life!
The ceremony was extremely moving. Love and friendship rang out.
The party was fun and short. I remember the dinner being very delicious and the afters, even better(arayes) (my favorite).
